Emerging Quebec singer-songwriter Ryan Kennedy is back with his new video for “Say Hello”, which you can watch exclusively via Aesthetic Magazine below.
The video takes place in a beautiful sun-drenched living room as you’re transported into Kennedy’s diverse musical landscape of pop, rock, and a hint of disco that seamlessly blend together in a song that you can’t resist. As muted coloured sheets adorn Kennedy’s piano throughout the video, they are suddenly thrown into the wind and discarded as if to illustrate that Kennedy knows who is he as a person, and as an artist.
“Say Hello” inspires listeners to never compromise who you are, and with a slick video featuring Kennedy’s mesmerizing on screen presence, and charisma, this track is the perfect addition to any fall playlist.
Originally from Morin-Heights in the Laurentians, Kennedy became passionate about music from an early age. In addition to being an accomplished singer-songwriter, waltzing with indie and folk sounds, the artist is passionate about aviation, among other things.
Kennedy’s career flourished when Quebec and Canadian audiences discovered him on stage at La Voix in 2015, before he was invited to participate in The Voice France in 2018.
Kennedy has so far had two original albums to his credit: Love Is Gold (2017) and Home Fires (2015). Among his many radio singles, the singer stood out particularly with his excerpt “Honest Song”; a title that received the prize for Quebec’s most popular French-language song at the 2018 SOCAN Gala. It was also ranked among the five most played songs on Quebec radio stations between 2016 and 2017.
While working on his third album, the singer-songwriter surprised his audience in 2018 by offering the unreleased song “Dear Christmas”. The folk and melancholic song, offered in English and French, has collected more than 400,000 streams on digital platforms. The latter particularly reflected Kennedy’s state of mind vis-à-vis Christmas: a bittersweet feeling, translated into the one who, over time, tamed the solitude of the holiday season and said he was charmed by the magic surrounding this time of year.
The talented artist usually exposes his world in different facets, navigating between the storms crossed, his brighter present and the promising future that stands before him. As much on stage as on record, across Canada and Europe, Kennedy immerses us in his mesmerizing songs thanks to his unique voice and his equally catchy compositions.
