Top 3 All-Time Casino Movie Soundtracks

By: Staff –

Busy playing on the Las Vegas strip or having the best time of their lives gambling with their friends. We compiled a list of the best all-time casino movie soundtracks so you can get the gist of the lucky casino energy:

The Hangover

Since The Hangover received a lot of fame for its witty humor and exciting casino-themed scenes, it scored a whopping 79% on Rotten Tomatoes. With most of the movie taking place at the Caesars Palace casino, a group of friends set off to enjoy their days gambling. They plan a wonderful vacation for the sake of making memories before Doug, a character played by Justin Bartha, has his wedding.

To prove what might’ve been the funniest movie to take place in the Vegas trip, we have to jump forward to the famous blackjack scene from The Hangover. One of the friends, played by Zack Galifianakis, decides to go try his luck at blackjack online and it seems to be working well in his favor. Meanwhile, the track Joker and the Thief by Wolfmother is playing.

In other scenes of the movie, we hear Rihanna’s hit song “Live Your Life” with T.I. and “Who Let The Dogs Out” by Baha Men. In true casino spirit, the soundtracks in this movie encourage the audience to cherish friendship and the pursuit of making fun memories with friends one last time.

Casino Royale

Famous for creating many Hollywood movie soundtracks, David Arnold decided to chime in and turn Casino Royale into a casino thrill music adventure. Therefore, the theme number “You Know My Name” was made for the movie and became an instant hit with the film’s release.

Because Daniel Craig made his first debut as the new James Bond in this movie, the song proved to be very important. Filled with action, we see daring scenes where Bond tries to win against the antagonist Le Chiffre in the midst of one of the most tension-packed poker games ever played on the screen.

What was the box office revenue, you ask? A total of $616 million.

The late singer Chris Cornell, David Arnold, and Nicholas Dodd had to combine their talents to make one of the most recognizable casino instrumentals and tracks in the history of the Hollywood movie industry.

Ocean’s 11

Filled with an all-A-list celebrity cast, the Ocean’s franchise starred Julia Roberts, George Clooney, and Brad Pitt in Ocean’s 11. With a talented cast, Ocean’s 11 was bound to go down as a classic in the gambling movie industry.

Due to multiple songs by the renowned Philadelphia Orchestra, Perry Como, and Percy Faith, the movie has an incredibly poignant soundtrack. Just when you think things are settling down in the movie, the music creeps in and you know something unexpected is about to happen. Most of the great job done on music was due to the Philadelphia Orchestra doing what they do best.

Because of the amazing direction and acting, the film earned $450 million off of just box office success. What made this movie and its success better was the great music that went right along with the gambling theme.

Seeing that the movie was made as a remake of the original 1960’s that went by the same title, it surpassed all expectations with the glamorous music accompanying the best scenes.

Amidst the modern-day tracks and albums, casino culture has benefited from modern-day music and the glamor it brings to casino games.

In the 60’s and ’70s, Elvis Presley’s “Viva Las Vegas” and “The Gambler” by Kenny Rogers were all the casino-themed music thrills you could get. But this means this type of music frenzy has been around a long time, with audiences piquing in curiosity and finding thrill in the new pop beats.

We can only hope that future casino movies will bring along passionate music when it comes to action-packed scenes. Every twist and turn is best accompanied by music that is composed keeping casino wins and losses in mind.

Whether our favorite casino movie heroes lose or win, we know that the best music has to come and entertain casino fans during those high-stakes emotional scenes.

So, let’s all keep on enjoying the best casino movies and the exciting soundtracks they have to offer us!
