Theo Keating, the UK man also known as “Fake Blood” took the stage at The Hoxton in Toronto late Friday evening. Originally, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (TEED) aka Orlando Higginbottom was planned to open the show, but due to a delayed flight to Toronto, the set times were switched.

With a packed house filled with glow sticks and beers, Fake Blood pumped through an hour of straight dance music. With just his headphones, Keating dripped with sweat above his gear. Playing base bumping tunes (both his own and not), the youthful audience seemed to enjoy it, raving vigorously through the entire set.

As 1:30am hit, Keating neared the end of his electronic filled set with his tune “I Think I Like It”, which made the crowd erupt into madness. Higginbottom appeared on stage shortly after to make the switch. Also, due to TEED’s delay, the live set was cancelled and replaced with a simple DJ set. Higginbottom portrayed himself simply, dressed in all black with Nike kicks, but minus the usual costume or dinosaur-related headgear. The smooth switch of DJ’s was hardly noticeable as Higginbottom continued the party with electronic disco tunes to last a lifetime.

From the posse of dancers and photographers on stage behind the DJ table, to the sweaty dancing bodies below the stage, there was not a sad soul in sight. Although there were no dinosaurs in the building, TEED made the evening a dirty dance feast nonetheless.
