To announce its 2015 lineup, Osheaga has launched a new mobile game called “The Road to Osheaga”, to use with iPhone, iPad, and Android.
“The Road to Osheaga” will provide fans a fun and innovative way to discover the names of nearly 80 artists who are playing in the festival’s 2015 edition before the official announcement and on-sale on March 24 at noon.
Developed by Behaviour Interactive, a Montreal firm, “The Road to Osheaga” is an endless driver game in which Oshee and Aga, the Festival’s mascots, drive through the city’s streets behind the wheel of their convertible on their way to Osheaga 2015. By avoiding obstacles along the way, Oshee and Aga earn bonus “10th anniversary cake” points that will unlock a brief audio clip by the various bands and artists that will play this summer.
“The Osheaga team is very proud to be the first festival in North America to give such a gift to our fans to celebrate our 10th anniversary,” said Nick Farkas, Vice-President, Concerts and Events at evenko. “With this game, fans can hear the music while discovering the artists and bands on the lineup, which is added value to their experience. We are glad to have found an original and fun way to bring together the world of arts and music with the gaming world, two complementary areas that are constantly making headlines and promoting the city of Montreal.”
This immersive experience has some surprises for the best drivers. Members of the Top 10 will be eligible for a draw of passes to attend the festival this year. The highest scorer will receive the Grand Prize which includes two Gold Passes, a three-night stay in one of Osheaga’s official accommodations, and travel to Montreal from anywhere in the world!
“The Road to Osheaga” is available on iOS today for free download from the App Store, and will be available on Google Play for Android on March 19th at noon.
The 10th anniversary edition of Osheaga will take place at Parc-Jean-Drapeau from July 31 to August 2.
