Sometime during the summer of 2013, a secret military operation designated “Oceapur 9” was conducted somewhere within the Kootanay Mountains. Until now, the details of this mission have been fiercely guarded from the public eye. It is at great risk to their safety that Sudbury genre-bending collective Pistol George Warren reveal those mysteries in their new album Oceapur 9. The audio files, set for distribution to the vexation of many top-ranking officials on June 23, follow a detailed account of intergalactic exploitation and outer space espionage that you will truly find hard to believe. Listen at your own risk.
A while back, four people named Matt and two other guys got together in their hometown of Sudbury to start jamming and found an incredible chemistry, both in songwriting and performance. Later they were joined by troop of backup singers who quickly became full time members of the collective known as Pistol George Warren. Within the first year, the band released their first LP, Back to Northern Country, and then followed it up the next year with another one, Mindemoya. Not mention two EPs, Thanks For The Hoots and Hoots Deuce.
Pistol George Warren will gather their collection of twangers, bangers, singers, and wailers for a string of tour dates later this summer, to further disseminate the secrets of Oceapur 9. (Tour dates below)
