Tom Waits to perform new song on Late Show with David Letterman

Tom Waits will make his 10th and final appearance on Late Show with David Letterman tonight (May 14th), and he will perform a new song. Waits first appeared with Letterman on December 21, 1983, when Dave had Late Night on NBC. After tonight’s appearance, Waits said, “I don’t know when I will see Dave again. I guess from now on we’ll have to settle for bumping into each other at pilates.”

In other Tom Waits news, a Kickstarter campaign to publish Tom Waits For No One: The Illustrated Scrapbook has reached its funding goal.

The book will document the making of the 1979 ‘Tom Waits For No One’ short film, and will feature 160 pages of “animation cels, rotoscope drawings, character studies, backgrounds and a rare 1979 Tom Waits interview about the film.”

Late Show with David Letterman airs at 11:35pm EST on CBS.
