Steve,s Massey Hall performance gets a B+. The first two thirds of his show was the best I,ve seen but from his song “Cocaine”, it quickly went down hill from there. Always amazes me why sound technicians think that louder is better. The sound from that point on was so loud and distorted that most of Earle,s words were unintellegeable . It was truly a crime to performe like that in such a great acoustic venue as Massey Hall. Have also seen this done by Blue Rodeo at the Stratford Theatre, a venue that hardly needs 1000 watts of amplification!
At least Stevie,s solos were top notch with his vocals clearly filling the house.
