Scott Weiland, the former lead singer for ’90s rock band Stone Temple Pilots, and rock supergroup Velvet Revolver, died in his sleep while on tour with his solo band Scott Weiland and The Wildabouts in Bloomington, Minnesota last night, according to an Instagram post on Weiland’s official account. “Scott Weiland, best known as the lead singer for Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, passed away in his sleep while on a tour stop in Bloomington, Minnesota, with his band The Wildabouts,” the post read. “At this time we ask that the privacy of Scott’s family be respected.”
