Bishop Briggs, the UK singer and songwriter whose viral debut single “Wild Horses” reached #1 on Spotify’s US Viral Chart and #2 on Spotify’s Global Viral 50 charts, has released the official video for the track.  Watch the “Wild Horses”video below.

In the “Wild Horses” video, which was directed by Ramon Ayala and filmed in Encino, CA, Briggs wanders around the fringes of a Lynchian fever dream where men in gorilla masks ride motorbikes, oxygen masks double as accessories and even starlets have to do vigorous pushup sets.

“They were supposed to be different fragments of my imagination,” says Briggs.  “The whole point was to have this borderline fantasy of people that are obscure and mysterious that you may find as you walk through life.”

Briggs’ music now transcends the limitations of singular genres, blending folk, pop and electronic music into a wholly unique sound.  Her voice, lived-in and unafraid, has been likened to artists as varied as Janis Joplin, Florence Welch, Aretha Franklin, and Brittany Howard (Alabama Shakes), but Bishop foregoes restraint and defies categorization, forging a path that is uniquely hers.  With more new material and recent live performances/opening slots for Coldplay, Passion Pit and Kaleo, Bishop Briggs is poised to be one of 2017’s biggest breakout artist.

Whether it is the defiance of “Wild Horses” or the rapture of “River,” Briggs’ songs are all inspired by what she calls “the biggest, most toxic and tragic love affair I’ve ever had”: her lifelong commitment to music.
