Photos + Recap: 2017 Prism Prize Gala @ TIFF Bell Lightbox

Last night, the Prism Prize announced that Martin C. Parizeau was the Grand Prize winner of the 2017 Prism Prize for Kaytranada’s “Lite Spots” music video. Parizeau was on hand to accept the Prism Prize trophy and $15,000 award at the Prism Prize Awards Presentation at TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto.

Presenters also awarded the the Prism Prize Audience Award to director Winston Hacking for Andy Shauf’s The Magician video, based on thousands of online votes.

Don Allan of Revolver Films was also in attendance to accept the previously announced Prism Prize Special Achievement Award, honouring a Canadian music video artist for their artistic achievements and exceptional contribution to music video art on a world stage.

Also honoured at the event was Kid. Studio, the recipient of the Lipsett Award, established to recognize an innovative and unique approach to music video art and presenters awarded July Talk with the Hi-Fidelity Award, for exhibiting a strong visual identity through music video.

Prism Prize will announce plans for its sixth annual event later this year.
