Famous Last Words.
When I was younger, and Mother’s Day or Father’s Day would come around, I (along with many other children) always wondered, “Why isn’t there a kids day???”. Of course now that I am older with a child of my own, I realize the reason is, because every day is basically kids day. Father’s Day and Mother’s Day are to celebrate your parents and the things they do which you might take for granted. I also realized why my seemingly “lame” gifts made my parents so happy. It’s because they were practical, and practical things kick ass when you are adulting. So here is a nice list I put together for gift ideas for Father’s Day.

Underwear and/or Socks

What can I really say here? When I was young I always dreaded shaking the beautifully wrapped box I would get as a gift only to hear nothing shaking around and realizing that all I got was some sort of clothing. But now that I’m older and have to buy my own underwear and socks, I realize how expensive that shit is. I jump with joy when I hear silence after picking up a gift. #Score

Bag of Coffee

There aren’t many things more satisfying for parents in the morning than a nice cup of coffee. Let’s be real, being a parent kicks ass, but it is very tiring.

Frisbee

One of my absolute favorite things to do with my daughter is playing outside with her. We unfortunately lost our last frisbee, so a new one would be prime.

Cologne

If you have a child, or have been around kids before, you know all of the wonderful sounds their toys can make. They are loud, repetitive, obnoxious, and overwhelming at times. But we continue to get them for our kids because we love how happy it makes them. So having headphones to get away of the satanic giggles of Tickle Me Elmo, would be a great gift. Because then everyone can be happy (and you can keep your sanity).

Bluetooth Speaker
_____________________________________________________________________________________
Because sometimes you and your kid want to rock the shit out of some “Let It Go” and a phone speaker simply isn’t enough.

Favourite CD/ Movie
_____________________________________________________________________________________
This is especially awesome if it’s something you and your kid can enjoy together. You can’t ALWAYS just jam to “Let It Go”. (Sorry Elsa)

Gym Membership

Dad bods are great and all… but not really.

Slippers
_____________________________________________________________________________________
I am the world’s strongest advocate for slippers. I think I actually wear slippers on tour more than my shoes. Comfort is KEY.

Homemade Gift
_____________________________________________________________________________________
At the end of the day, nothing in the world beats a homemade gift. Seeing your child’s creativity come to fruition in the form of a gift they made just for you is something you just simply can’t put a price on. You will cherish that gift for the rest of your life.
