10. Santino Marella Almost Wins The Title In 2012

Santino Marella nearly took home the gold during Elimination Chamber 2012 against Daniel Bryan, Wade Barrett, Cody Rhodes, The Great Kali and Big Show. Marella came about as a gimmick wrestler, not earning a main event status during his WWE tenure, but during this elimination chamber match in 2012, the Italian-born Canadian grappler came heartstoppingly close to winning the World Heavyweight Championship, eliminating Cody Rhodes and Wade Barrett until it was just him and Daniel Bryan left standing. However, Marella ended up submitting to Bryan’s LeBell Lock, and eventually left the company in 2016.
