The boom of digital entertainment has forced many live entertainment venues to step up their game. This has led to various casinos and gaming establishments investing in increasingly compelling reasons for people to get off their screens and actually visit these venues in person. The result is a growing trend of casinos launching a wide array of live sporting experiences in a successful bid to attract millennials and new audiences.
Century Mile Racetrack and Casino – Edmonton

Right here on Canadian soil, the latest example of this blooming live sports trend is Century Mile Racetrack and Casino. Apart from its wide array of interactive digital games, there’s the new social entertainment-focused REPLAY gaming stadium with 28 unique playing stations, as well as its own off-track playing room. The Century Mile Racetrack and Casino’s racing entertainment center has also scheduled its first weekend of thoroughbred racing on its one-mile track for April 28, 2019.
MGM Grand – Las Vegas

This colossal venue is known for its 45-foot bronze lion and its garden arena, which has hosted some of the biggest names in music like Paul Simon, The Eagles, Ozzy Osbourne, and Lady Gaga. However, for sports fans, the next big reason to visit the MGM Grand is none other than TopGolf. It’s basically the ultimate golf driving range that is part of one of the biggest casinos on the planet. Digital gaming provider Expatbets, in their article on how casinos are reaching out to the millennial market, call TopGolf “the future of entertainment.” The site notes how like a casino, TopGolf is an all-in-one entertainment venue. Apart from the main attraction, it has its own nightclub, lounge, restaurant, and recreational center. Golf Digest notes how TopGolf even has screens at the far end of the range so customers can watch live sports while hitting golf balls.
Casino Niagara – Ontario

In 2017, Casino Niagara opened the LEV2L Sports Bar and Entertainment restaurant. The 275-seater sports-themed venue features a 123-inch HDTV along with 26 other smaller HDTVs across the venue for live sports entertainment. Sports fans can watch professional and college games in one of the country’s most elaborate sports bars. You might also want to check out the nearby Yuk Yuk’s Comedy Club for live comedy and music on the weekends.
Palms Casino Resort – Las Vegas

If you’re looking for a more hands-on sports experience, you definitely need to check out the Palms Casino Resort. Guests can book a suite that features either its own basketball court or its own bowling alley. The Hardwood Suite comes with a black-and-white half-court that was custom-painted by artist Joshua Vides. Some of the padded walls in this graphic indoor court can also fold down into three beds for extra guest room. Meanwhile, the Kingpin Suite as you might have guessed offers a 70s-themed bowling alley that’s equally suited for either a night of luxurious relaxation or a tense scene from a Quentin Tarantino flick.
These are just some of the casinos that currently offer innovative, new experiences for sports fans. As the casino industry explores new ways to bring in customers, you can expect this exciting trend of innovative and live sporting experiences to continue in some of the world’s most successful casino franchises.
