Brantford, Ontario-based singer-songwriter Saffron A is back with her brand new EP, Resilience, which you can stream exclusively via Aesthetic Magazine below.
“The Resilience EP is part one of a collection of songs that detail the emotional aftermath of sexual assault,” says Saffron A. “The content is strikingly personal and emotional, evoking an immediate response from the listener. These songs speak to a personal narrative that is shared by too many.”
Saffron A has refined her skills on the octave mandolin and mandocello. Her music sits where emotion and intellect intersect with lyrics inspired by divine poetry and sounds beaming with the raw honesty of Janis Ian, the phrasing of Joni Mitchell and diversity of Jack White. She paints deep, dark, verbal portraits with strokes of wit and authenticity that belie her years. In the past year, she has showcased at Folk Music Ontario, and embarked across the border to the Northeast Regional Folk Alliance.
