Alt-pop/rock band Missyou are back with a new video for their track “closetoyou”, which you can watch exclusively via Aesthetic Magazine below.
On the video, lead singer, Blaise Beyhan, shares, “A girl who I grew up with, who used to baby sit me and was part of the commune I grew up in, she was like a big sister to me, passed away a couple of months ago, I did not know what to say and the thing that kept coming to mind is to say we should not take each other for granted, that we need to keep our loved ones close, and that none of us are getting out alive. The video is an expression of loss of innocence, and an exercise of grief.”
The New York City four-piece’s vision is to create music they can stand behind with an emphasis on storytelling, moving listeners through time. Missyou pulls inspiration and influence from a broad spectrum of music as well as film and visual arts. They believe in freedom of expression and that every picture and sound they create is part of a larger story.
