Exclusive: Stream Jaimey Hamilton’s New Curated “Songs That Remind Me of Summer” Spotify Playlist

By: Staff –

To celebrate the release of Jaimey Hamilton’s new summer single, “Stompin’ Ground”, the BC-based country artist curated a brand new “Songs That Remind Me of Summer” Spotify playlist. Stream it below!

Kenny Chesney – “American Kids”

This song perfectly describes all the little details of being young, growing up and having fun. When this song came out, I was just 14 years old and felt it was a reminder that this is the time in our lives to have fun while we’re still young and have no responsibilities yet. I resonated with the line “a little messed up but we’re all alright”.

Florida Georgia Line – “Cruise”

This might be a song in everyone’s playlist, but how could it not be? When I play it, I think about blasting it, driving down a gravel road with my windows down or boating down the lake in the summer. It is such a feel good, easy listening song that you can’t help but sing along.

Brooks & Dunn – “My Maria”

Brooks & Dunn never fail to catch my ear and have me singing along to their music. “My Maria” is no exception! Whether it’s trying to see who can sing the whole chorus without losing their breath or singing the harmonies, it is a perfect song around the campfire or when you’re floating around the lake.

Hailey Whitters – “Everything She Ain’t”

This is a sweet and fun catchy tune that I cannot skip past whenever it comes on. I love the lightness of it and how she embraces her charm.

Maren Morris – “80s Mercedes”

“Pop the top down like a summer dream” is just like this masterpiece of a song. The melody grabs me in an instant and the song easily relates to me when getting lost in a song and finding inspiration in taking a drive.

Madeline Merlo – “Slide”

I’ve had this song on repeat since it’s been released and don’t see that slowing down anytime soon. For me, I can’t help thinking of summer when I play this song – jumping into my boyfriend’s truck, playing our favourite songs and staying right here in this moment. It has a fun, flirty and vibrant melody that is a great party track to play this summer.

Jon Pardi – “When I’ve Been Drinkin’”

I’ve loved Jon Pardi ever since he released this song. I love how he makes fun of himself after a night out and dialling up someone that maybe he shouldn’t have. I want to say it was summer of 2016 when I first heard it and ever since then it reminds me of summertime.

Miranda Lambert – “Tequila Does – Remix ”

I loved this song off of her “Wildcard” album so when I heard the remix, I instantly added it to my own summertime playlist. It is the perfect upbeat and fun party song to enjoy.

Thomas Rhett – “Crash and Burn”

I saw Thomas Rhett perform live in 2015 at Sunfest Country Music Festival on Vancouver Island and became such a big fan. I had never gotten into his music up until I saw him live. Ever since then, I have loved his music. This song specifically always got me pumped up and I think about the first time I saw him that summer whenever I hear it.

Khalid – “Young Dumb & Broke”

I was only 17 when I first heard this song and going into the summertime it was a staple song for us young graduated, soon-to-be adults.

Troye Sivan, Alessia Cara, Young Bombs – “WILD – Young Bombs Remix”

His whole “Blue Neighbourhood” album was on repeat for me and especially this remix for “WILD”. I love the lyrics and the feeling I get when I hear this song and I love that Alessia Cara is featured on this version. I couldn’t stop listening to this song in the summer of 2017.

Lynyrd Skynyrd  – “Sweet Home Alabama”

With one of the best-known guitar riffs in rock n roll along with a catchy melody and sing-along lyrics, “Sweet Home Alabama” is another staple summer tune. I always picture singing this one around the campfire with everyone singing along with me. It’s a great throwback song that never fails to get old.
