Beloved indie rock outfit Jane’s Party is excited to share new single “Changes”. A heartfelt exploration of growth and new beginnings, the track blends nostalgic 90s Britpop influences with the band’s signature modern indie-rock sound, creating a stirring anthem for reflection and renewal. Watch the lyric video below.
Vocalist and bassist Devon Richardson reflects, “Changes is a song about letting go of the past and embracing the possibilities of tomorrow. Our aim was to craft a song in a 90s Britpop – alternative rock aesthetic. From the vocal production to the sound of the guitars, we always had that goal in mind. We consider it our tribute to the genre.”
Guitarist and vocalist Tom Ionescu shares, “Oasis’ ‘What’s The Story Morning Glory’ was one of the first records I ever bought with my own money. I had my friend pick me up a used copy from the local record store (Sonic Temple) on his lunch break. I was in grade 10 and this happened to be the best record a kid who was just getting into playing guitar could get! Since then, it always surprises me how we can return to music we first heard over two decades ago, and get to hear it anew – with new ears, more context, and hindsight. Working on “Changes” felt like that process applied to a new piece of music – trying to harness the experience of a life in music performance, composition, and production to create something that might have inexplicably resonated with my 15-year-old self.”
Building on their previously announced partnership with the Community Music Schools of Toronto (CMST), Jane’s Party will take the stage at The Cameron House on January 25 for a special benefit concert to support music education for underprivileged youth. This collaboration includes mentorship, workshops, and donations aimed at enriching the lives of underprivileged youth through music education. Their support kicks off with a Toronto benefit concert at The Cameron House on January 25. Learn more about CMST HERE.
The new single arrives on the heels of Jane’s Party’s recent release, The Best of Wild in the Woods, a collection of outdoor live recordings featuring collaborations with notable Canadian artists, including Greg Keelor (Blue Rodeo), Shad, and Ewan Currie (The Sheepdogs).
