On September 19, 2025, fans filled the floor of the beautiful Brooklyn Paramount to see Wolf Alice perform, with an opening set by Willy Mason. From start to finish, the show was electrifying. The band opened with the smooth strings and melodies of “Thorns” from their latest album, The Clearing. From the first note, lead vocalist Ellie Rowsell had the crowd in the palm of her hand.
The audience, a diverse mixture of old and young, long-time fans and new listeners, was entranced from start to finish. Rowsell dominated the stage with effortless charisma, her voice shifting from ethereal to fierce as the band flowed through the almost two-hour set. Guitarist Joff Oddie and bassist Theo Ellis’ intricate playing was especially magnetic during their quieter, more atmospheric tracks – while drummer Joel Amey held the whole show together with steady and commanding rhythms.
The beautiful lighting and atmosphere at the Brooklyn Paramount enhanced the mood, casting eerie shadows during darker moments and flaring into vibrant bursts during the band’s more upbeat anthems. The energy in the room was palpable, a testament to Wolf Alice’s undeniable chemistry and their ability to deliver a live show that is as visceral as it is emotionally resonant. It was only natural they close with their biggest hit, “Don’t Delete the Kisses” released in 2018. As the disco ball spun, Ellie Rowsell sang and laughed with the audience, tying a beautiful bow on a show that solidified Wolf Alice’s genre-defining place in the alt-rock space.
