Concert Preview: Acclaimed Death Metal Band Cannibal Corpse To Invade Toronto On Decibel Magazine Tour

By: Curtis Sindrey (@SindreyCurtis) –

Buffalo, New York-based death metal quintet and metal veterans Cannibal Corpse will invade Toronto’s Phoenix Concert Theatre on May 31st, along with English grindcore quartet Napalm Death, Yonkers, New York death metal group Immolation, and Montreal-based progressive death metal quartet Beyond Creation.

Cannibal Corpse, who has been followed by a trail of controversy since forming in 1988, and who recently released a new live album in April entitled ‘Torturing and Eviscerating Live‘, they are intimidating as they are talented.

Having formed several years before Cannibal Corpse did back in 1981, UK grindcore quartet Napalm Death has also developed a legion of diehard followers and the seventh best-selling death metal band in the United States.

Having released their last album last February entitled Utilitarian, fans are eager for new material, but they’ll have to settle for their incredibly fast and furious live performance.

Yonkers, New York death metal group Immolation, who released their ninth album, Kingdom of Conspiracy, on May 10, are as old as Cannibal Corpse and have also developed a rabid fan base, and these guys are nowhere near ready to slow down.

Montreal-based progressive death metal quartet Beyond Creation, who releasedtheir debut full-length album, The Aura, in June 2011, have “become known for taking the innovative and exciting metal sound of their Quebec homeland and launching it into uncharted territory.” It’s safe to say that the future is bright for these death metal youngsters.
