The 30th anniversary of the Hillside Music Festival kicked off at Guelph Lake Island in Guelph, ON, last Friday with performances from British pop/alternative rock band World Party, which features former member of The Waterboys Karl Wallinger, and who are best known for both their debut hit single ” “Ship Of Fools”, and their 1999 hit single “She’s The One”, which was later covered by Robbie Williams, Vancouver-based indie rock quintet Said The Whale, Toronto-based punk rock trio METZ and Nashville-based “indie, classical, rock” sextet Kopecky Family Band.
