Jay Malinowski, best known as the frontman of acclaimed Toronto-based raggae trio Bedouin Soundclash, performed at The Great Hall in Toronto last night with his new band The Deadcoast in support of his new solo album, Martel, which was released on February 11th, 2014 through Pirates Blend/Sony, which serves as a concept album that traces lineages back to Malinowski’s French huguenot ancestor, Charles Martel, with Toronto-based “ghost folk-pop experimental” trio Queen of the Fleet, who released a 5-song EP, All The Beautiful Things, on January 25th, 2014.
