Hollerado - "Firefly”

Toronto indie quartet Hollerado will release a special collection of demos dedicated to fans titled 111 Songs on March 24, 2015.  Stream the first track “Firefly (Annie Murphy)” below.

On the band’s 2013 release White Paint, the first 111 fans to pre-order the LP were promised a custom song written exclusively for them.  Now complete, 111 Songs will take the form of a demo collection from which Hollerado’s third album will be culled. Even the cover art is an homage to fans. Illustrated by Martin MacPherson, the cover depicts a 111-headed glow-in-the-dark monster representing each one of the people who ordered a custom song. Below is a short blurb from the band about the release. A longer message from the band along with a sneak peak at 2 other tracks can be found at their official website: http://hollerado.com/

“We promised 111 people custom songs.  Then a ‘bunch of stuff’ happened.  It took us a while to finish them but now they are done!  The rest of the songs come out on iTunes in March and a glow-in-the-dark 7” vinyl will come out on Record Store Day.”

One fan who pre-ordered the album was lead singer Menno Versteeg’s wife, Annie Murphy.  He wrote the song “Firefly” for her, after a fire destroyed their Toronto condo in Spring 2014, detailed here in the Huffington Post.  An aspiring actor, Annie recently landed the role of “socialite daughter” on the upcoming CBC sitcom Schitt’s Creek starring Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara and Chris Elliot.
