Toronto EDM music festival Digital Dreams announced this afternoon that they’ve cancelled Saturday’s event “in the interest of public safety and to protect fans, artists, and staff” due to the forecasted high winds and heavy rainfall in Southern Ontario. Sustained winds of 30-40km/hr along with heavy rain and wind gusts up to 70km/hour forecasted from 6pm onward would require festival organizers to stop the show and evacuate the site.
Scheduled performers for Saturday included headliner Armin van Buuren, along with Steve Angello, Carl Cox, Porter Robinson, and more.
Previously purchased single day tickets for Saturday will be available for a refund at the point of purchase, two-day weekend passes will be refunded at 50 per cent and will be valid for entry on Sunday.
Fans that purchased tickets from a friend or a third party website such as Craigslist or Kijiji, the original ticket purchaser will be issued the refund.
The refund will appear on the credit card used for the original purchase within 5-10 business days.
For those who purchased travel packages through Findor they will be e-mailing you instructions regarding refunds within the next 24 hours.
The festival will resume on Sunday, June 28th with doors beginning at 2pm.
