UK Britpop/Indie Rock band The Charlatans, who released their 12th album, Modern Nature, on January 26th, 2015 via BMG, which featured the singles “Talking In Tones”, “So Oh”, and “Come Home Baby”, performed at The Regency Ballroom in San Francisco last night.

I just recently moved back into the Bay Area (wife’s doing not mine..) and it was good to see them again. When I first moved here to SF back in July of 1992, I saw the Charlatans UK during their Madchester peak (Between 10 and 11 was out early that year) at the Warfield.
This was sort of a welcome back show for me. I was 23 years younger then and I remember the show being pretty transcendent for me. The band has endured quite a bit over those years – most notably the loss of their original keyboardist and founding member Rob Collins and most recently the loss of their original drummer Jon Brookes.
Pretty good show, Tim Burgess hasn’t aged.
