The winter weather isn’t cooling anyone down at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Oasis Montreal Marathon. Our Lady Peace confirmed it will greet runners, supporters and fans with a free concert at the finish line in Parc Lafontaine on 25 September, 2016.

“The event’s rocking atmosphere and concerts appeal not only to runners but also to those who come to support them and to the general public as well. Athletic inclinations are not a requirement! We have seen an increase in the public’s participation in the event’s finish line festival over the past few years, and having Our Lady Peace with us this year is sure to buttress that trend,” Dominique Arsenault, the Marathon’s spokesperson, proudly explains.

With over 35,000 participants projected for this year’s race, the atmosphere promises to be lively at the finish line.

“Registration is going impressively well so far. It seems that a lot of runners enjoyed their experience last year and signed right up for 2016,” Arsenault adds enthusiastically.

The participants will be running to the beat of live music performances presented along the courses of the event’s races. Our Lady Peace’s finish line concert will be icing on the cake and a great way for runners to celebrate their performance. With its countless hits over eight albums since the 1990’s, the Canadian alternative rock band and winner of four Juno awards and 10 MuchMusic Video Awards will certainly get athletes, amateurs and music fans singing to the same tune.

The Montreal Marathon—a part of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series since 2012—will give participants the chance to discover new local acts and plenty of other surprises. The Rock ‘n’ Roll band listing and weekend schedule can be found in the Event Guide, which will be available as of next September on the Marathon website: http://www.runrocknroll.com/montreal/.

Interested runners can choose from five races at the biggest running event in Quebec, including the most popular half-marathon in Canada. Register here.
