Bestival Toronto reveals 2016 headliners

Bestival Toronto has revealed the headliners for its 2016 line-up. The second edition of one of Toronto’s newest festivals will take place from June 11-12 at Woodbine Park, a change from last year’s venue of Hanlan’s Point Beach.

Headlining Bestival Toronto 2016 will be The Cure, and Tame Impala.

From inspiring bands like Interpol, and The Smashing Pumpkins, to selling 27 million albums worldwide, The Cure are legends of the goth rock/post-punk genre. Their legendary headline performance on the Isle of Wight is engrained in Bestival lore, and with a back catalogue that’s truly second to none, they’re a cast iron guarantee of good times in Bestival’s new Toronto home of Woodbine Park.

Trailblazers of the psychedelic renaissance,  sonic daredevil Kevin Parker leads Tame Impala, and their most recent album, Currents, has taken their sound in consciousness-expanding new directions, making them one of the most exciting live acts around. Expect nothing less than mind-blowing riff mania and woozy delights.

The ticket pre-sale begins today (March 11) at 10am with the general on-sale beginning on March 14th at 10am. Head to www.bestival.ca and sign up for access to the ticket pre-sale.

Bestival curator Rob da Bank says: “We’re back, and Bestival Toronto is up and running for a second year. With a beautiful new site, and so much love emanating from Toronto we needed some big headliners, and The Cure and Tame Impala more than fit the bill; two of the best live acts I’ve ever seen from totally different eras. Other artists will be announced on March 14th at 9am.
