C2E2

The Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2) returns to the Windy City from March 18-20. This year, it will be held in the South Building at McCormick Place, hailed as the largest convention centre in North America. The weekend kicks off at 10 a.m. on Friday, starting off fast with a jam-packed day filled with panels, screenings, and autograph sessions. This event calls fans from all around the area, other states, and even from out of the country. Since its inception in 2010, C2E2 has been an event that encouraged fans to bring their fandom A-game. The event organizers have recognized the passion and commitment from every fan that has attended, newcomers and veterans alike.

This year’s guest list brings the star power from comics, the entertainment industry, and literature. Featured comic guests include: Chris Burnham (Batman Incorporated), Chris Claremont (X-Men), Francis Manapul (The Flash), Jae Lee (Batman/Superman), and Marguerite Sauvage (DC Bombshells). The entertainment list includes: John Cusack, Jeremy Shada (Finn, Adventure Time), August Richards (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Sasha Roiz (Grimm), veterans Edward James Olmos and Mary McDonell (Battlestar Galactica), and newcomer Melissa Benoist (Supergirl).

As always, there will be booths selling art, merchandise, and rare collectibles ranging from the many vendors spread out across the floor. Since last year’s expo had over 450 exhibitors and 464 artists, this year promises great talent, as well as more exciting merchandise, cosplays, and an all-around fun experience.

C2E2 is part of the ReedPOP family, responsible for bringing fans New York Comic Con, BookCon, Comic Con Paris, the PAX cons, and TwitchCon. The Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo will be held

C2E2 is family friendly and encourages families with children to attend. Their “Family HQ” is sponsored by Yo-Kai Watch and Medieval Times and is full of fun activities such as arts & crafts, workshops, and more. For cosplayers, gamers, and those just wanting to relax and meet new people, the “Fan Village” is perfect. Fan Village is a place to recharge and participate in fandom meetups – facilitated by Meetup.com – including meetups for all fans of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Star Wars, Marvel, Game of Thrones, Sailor Moon, and many more.
