From October 3-5, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) will celebrate the incredible catalogue of the most honoured film composer of all time: John Williams. For decades, Williams has provided memorable themes for an incredible lineup of classic movies, collecting an unequalled 50 Oscar nominations (and five Oscar wins) in the process. You’ll enjoy all your favourite movie themes, including the Star Wars series, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jurassic Park, Schindler’s List, and many more, conducted by TSO Principal Pops Conductor Steven Reineke.

“Few composers have made as much impact as John Williams has on film music,” says Reineke. “He has written some of the most famous music in cinematic history—so well known, in fact, that these themes are almost characters in themselves, inextricably linked to the drama unfolding on screen.”

“For this concert, I’m thrilled to conduct your Toronto Symphony Orchestra in a program of some of the composer’s finest scores for motion picture. The first half of the concert features music from Williams’s creative partnership with eminent visionary director Steven Spielberg, with whom he has collaborated for an astounding 40 years. After the intermission, you’ll hear the sparkling “Harry’s Wondrous World” to the first Harry Potter film, followed by the unforgettable music to the Star Wars movies, including 2015’s Episode VII: The Force Awakens.”
