Exclusive Premiere: Watch Proper Man’s New Video for “Kleptomaniac”

By: Staff –

Kelowna, B.C.-based band Proper Man are back with a new video for their track “Kleptomaniac”, which you can watch exclusively via Aesthetic Magazine below.

On the new video the band said:

“The energy of this track is all about losing things but having them hold on to a piece of your heart, be it a past love for someone or something.   In Proper Mans’ case, these boys have all had a past history chasing the rock ‘n’ roll dream, and like most musicians, they have had the music scene chew them up and spit them out. Despite this, Proper Man has found a way to discover music again through a style they had never previously played or experienced.  With an 80’s new wave sound, Proper Man hopes to bring feelings of the past back to the listener and remind them of a time when hearts were broken and dreams were created.

Heritage sites were used to lend this 1920’s themed production a true authenticity.  No professional actors were used in this shoot – just friends and family enjoying cocktails under the guidance of producer Brody Ratsoy (Kustom Kut Productions) and directors Stefan Berrill and Jacob Harris (Brass Tacks Films).  The band members were so into their roles that they stayed in character long after the shoot ended, leaving family members and friends a little uneasy. The video for Kleptomaniac was shot in British Columbia’s interior, known as the Okanagan Valley (home to Proper Man), where front man Jason “Norm” Parkes is also a fixture in the wine industry.  He owns the winery “Crown and Thieves”, where he is determined to have a stage area for impromptu performances by Proper Man.  Jason’s motto is “Screw the cheese; pair the wine with Proper Man’s music.”
