New York City-based indie artist Feyer is back with a new video for his song “Stuck in a Video Game”, which you can watch exclusively via Aesthetic Magazine below.
“The lyric video for ‘Stuck in a Video Game’ is another visual asset to the story of getting sucked into a TV and becoming a video game character,” says Feyer. “Like the song’s music video, released last month, the lyric video was animated and produced by Kurt Vinci of Aqueous Animation. We wanted to create something that fit into the aesthetic of the video game narrative and explore the concept of taking on different characters and trying to complete different levels of the game. Since the lyrics to the verses are on the wordier side, a lyric video seemed ideal for teaching people the words in an engaging way. Now, there is no reason why the audience can’t sing along! Maybe certain verses will become memes, who knows?”
Feyer constructs his unique sound by combining personal yet theatrical lyrics with a classically influenced melodic and instrumental style, coupled with electronic-rock production. Key components of Feyer’s style are the merger of retro and futuristic sounds and the incorporation of visual elements into the mix, drawing great influence from nostalgic cartoons, video games, and live projections. Now based back in NYC, Feyer has showcased this music at many of the city’s well-known venues such as Mercury Lounge, Bowery Electric, Knitting Factory, and Sunnyvale to name a few.
When he is not working on his own music, Feyer can be found involving himself with other projects with a number of different artists and bands all across the music world. This includes recording, producing, and remixing other artists, songwriting collaborations, and composing and sound designing for films, shows, video games, commercials and audiobooks.
