Hailing from Seattle, WA, Christopher Hill & the Stardust Crush are back with their brand new singe “MAABA”, which you can stream exclusively via Aesthetic Magazine below.
The four-piece meditative rock band have focused on exploring social justice and the current political climate through emotional, folk singing with elements of heavy psychedelia. By incorporating electronic noise, distorted animal calls and altered natural sounds, the band repurposes instruments to create sweeping, creative sound effects. To highlight the social commentary around the current presidency, Christopher Hill & the Stardust Crush manipulate drums to sound like gun fire, far-away percussion to sound like jack hammers – engulfing the listener in a sound that is both familiar and completely foreign.
“MAABA (Making America All Better Again)” is inspired by the timeless rock of The Beach Boys, R.E.M. and Bob Dylan as well as the croonings of Mason Jennings and Black Mountain, in addition to defining themselves as jagged and tripped out, with meditative qualities accented by unclothed poetic sentiment…all wrapped in pop melodies.
