Former SNL cast member Noel Wells is back with a new video for her track “Still Sleeping”, which you can watch below.
The video lives in a quiet, contained space, to match the sweet tone of the song and subtly introduces elements of magical realism, where the viewer doesn’t know if the woman is awake or asleep, if it’s really happening of if it’s a dream.
Wells, who released her full-length debut album titled It’s So Nice! on August 30th, places an emphasis on songwriting with tunes that traverse folk, pop, alt-country and psych-rock. Circling themes of loss of innocence, heartbreak, and discovering autonomy, the album reflects on modern times – an anti-political diary that calls for acts of rebellion, albeit it in subversive and poetic ways.
