Previous Countdown NYE events have seen great success, bringing in over 5,000 attendees per year for the past four years and trancing the crowd with live performances by some of the best artists in the industry. In 2016, Countdown realized the globe’s infatuation with house music and put together a near sellout event, featuring live performances with notable artists such as, Bakermat, Joe Ghost, Grandtheft, and the official Raptors DJ 4KORNERS. In 2018, Countdown reflected Toronto’s love for hip hop and invited DJ Charlie B of Drake’s OVO brand to headline the show, along with unexpected appearance by one of OVOs chart-topping musicians, Baka Not Nice. Other notable artists from previous years include, Tory Lanez, Unimerce, Killa Kels, Fleming & Lawrence, Armo Kidd, and more split between several stunning rooms all under one roof.
The venue houses three uniquely designed rooms with state-of-the-art audio-visual systems that allow the crowd to travel between various environments across two entrances and two floors for an immersive experience. In 2017, Countdown hosted the event in a three-room format as a split between three different sounds including electronic and hip hop, with artist Tory Lanez hosting a Toronto Showcase in Liberty Grand’s Governor’s Room while the Artifacts Room welcomed six international trance producers. This year DJ Charlie B will be taking over the main stage in the Governor’s Room along with Alan Aguero, Clutch, DJ Luma and more. DJ Hyper, Nocturnal, Lowkie, DJ Khalif, and many more will be performing in the Artifacts Room. With over 20 artists performing each year and 80 VIP booths, Countdown NYE offers an exciting mixture of festival and nightclub life.
