LA-based psych songstress Katie Burden is back with a new video for her track “Little Annie”, which you can watch exclusively via Aesthetic Magazine below.
“Little Annie’ is about the dark recesses of the psyche where unbridled impulse and obsession take form,” said Burden. “The narrator is kind of like the Id personified and I wanted the video to reflect that. I was really inspired by the Japanese avant-garde dance known as Butoh. The Butoh dance technique walks this razor thin line between the beautiful and grotesque and it was my lofty ambition to achieve this delicate balance. Devin Schiro, who directed and produced the video, was very skilled at helping me bring this remote and conceptual vision into actuality. It was absolutely a team effort and I’m proud of the result.”
Burden, whose spooky soundscapes land somewhere between Billie Eilish and Nick Cave, will release her new EP Edge of Sleep in late February with production by Norm Block (Ghost Recon, Jenny Lee, Mark Lanegan).
