Thousands of protesters marched in downtown Toronto yesterday afternoon (May 30) to fight back against racism following the death of 29-year-old Toronto resident Regis Korchinski-Paquet, who fell to her death from a high-rise. The incident is now under investigation by the Ontario Civilian Police Commission.

The rally, which was organized by Not Another Black Life, a Toronto-based black activist group, happened after several high-profile, police-related deaths across the United States and Canada, including George Floyd, who was killed on May 25th when Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin placed his knee on Floyd’s neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds.
