In the height of the digital generation, filled with social media, selfies and inflated realities, Vancouver pop duo Fionn are calling out the era of their upbringing with the release of their irresistible new single “Modern Medication”, accompanied by the music video. The track preludes a new collection of music, with the announcement of their forthcoming EP Everyone’s A Critic, set for release on July 17 via 604 Records.
“Modern Medication” turns up the volume on their pop sensibility with it’s fun, danceable beats. Bringing together the best of today’s contemporary with vintage pop and adding a dash of early 2000’s flare, Fionn’s release is just as irresistible sonically as it is visually.
A cheeky commentary on the state of our current generation, the duo note, “’Modern Medication’ is a song about growing up with social media, and how it has affected the mentality of our generation. Being raised in Gen Z, we have never truly experienced life without our senses being overwhelmed by constant entertainment and pictures of what other people are doing. In the video, we wanted to represent the feeling of being on social media with shiny objects, colourful backdrops, fake poses, and fake smiles.”
