Patrick Droney Releases New EP “State of the Heart”

Soulful vocals, vibrant expression, and 21st-century pop melodies collide in Patrick Droney’s new EP State of the Heart. Out now via Warner Records, the six-song collection comes on the heels of Droney’s 2018 break-out self-titled release and explores what the young artist describes as “the reckoning of what’s behind you, finding meaning in loss, the essence of time, and the pursuit of self”.

Including three previously released tracks (“The Wire”, “Glitter”, and “Passerby”), State of the Heart was born in cities across the globe, spanning locations from London and Los Angeles, to Droney’s current home-base in Nashville, Tennessee. An amalgamation of kaleidoscopic emotion anchored by a central appreciation for the journey of life, the themes of growth and change have followed the Pennsylvania-born singer, songwriter, and acclaimed guitarist throughout his career.

First picking up a six-string guitar before reaching grade school, Droney was awarded the Robert Johnson Foundation’s Next Generation Award at only 12 years of age. Now, having received a position as a Fender go-to artist ambassador, a Top 10 standing on Spotify’s US Viral Top 50 chart (2018) with his single “Stand and Deliver”, and cosigns from legends such as James Brown, B.B. King, and Macy Gray, the rising artist continues to give fans a lot to look forward to with his blossoming career.

“The State of the Heart EP is the first half of my forthcoming full-length album,” Droney explains in an exclusive quote for Aesthetic Magazine. “These are a collection of songs that I hope can be friends in a time of distance. I think there’s something to find for everybody.”
