Ontario-based singer/songwriter Karli June is back with a new video for her track “Heart Drunk”.
The song was co-written by GRAMMY-nominated, CCMA & SOCAN Award-winning, and JUNO nominated songwriter Deric Ruttan (Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, Eric Church) and produced by award-winning producer Karen Kosowski (Brett Kissel, Madeline Merlo, The Washboard Union).
“Heart Drunk” – with an anthemic chorus and evocative vocals – takes the listener through a whirlwind romance characterized by the thrill and intoxicating feeling of falling in love. It is a play on words between the feeling of being tipsy, and the dramatic effect that a boy has on a girl’s heart.
Directed by well-known country music video director, Tim Deegan (Eric Ethridge, Leah Daniels, Shae Dupuy), and filmed at the beautiful Midcentury Loft in Toronto during the pandemic, the video sees June performing the song amongst dreamy hues of pink and purple lights to characterize the warm feelings of falling head over heels in love.
“With the ‘Heart Drunk’ music video we were hoping to create something that captured the vibrancy and excitement of falling in love with someone,” says June. “We also wanted to display the high energy side of me as an emerging artist. During this pandemic, when I am not able to perform in public, our goal was that from watching the video fans could get a little glimpse of what they might expect from me coming to a show.”
June is currently in the studio with A&R veteran Fraser Hill (James Barker Band, Wes Mack, One More Girl, Serena Ryder) working on her debut EP.
