Tokyo Police Club Announce Livestream Event + Share Matt And Kim Remix of “Gone”

By: Staff –

Tokyo Police Club have released a new Matt and Kim remix of the Champ album cut “Gone”, and have announced a livestream celebration for the release of the 10th anniversary edition of their beloved sophomore album on March 5th.

The Newmarket, Ontario quartet will perform the album in full live, broadcasting via Bandcamp from the Dine Alone Records office in Toronto 9pm EST/6pm PST, $10 USD – purchase tickets here.

The 10th anniversary edition of Champ is due out March 5 on vinyl + digital, distributed via Mom + Pop(US/Mex./Aus.), Dine Alone (Can.) and Memphis Industries (UK/EU). Pre-order the album here.

Discussing the Matt and Kim remix of “Gone,” guitarist/keyboardist Graham Wright stated, “Matt and Kim were one of the first ‘band friendships’ we ever made, way back at our first SXSW when we were all just kids with busted gear and more energy than sense (that last part might still be true). Every time our paths have crossed since I’ve been blown away by how they manage to, like, bottle their exuberance and joy, and even though sharing a stage with them is incredibly intimidating, our 2018 tour with them was one of the most fun we’ve ever been on. So we figured that, as long as we’re looking back fondly on the last 10 years, we might as well invite them to get in on the action!”

In addition to the Matt and Kim remix, the digital deluxe edition will feature the previously unreleased track, “Hundred Dollar Day,” along with b-sides, demos, and remixes by Andy Rourke of The Smiths, Passion Pit and more.
