Music icons from the 1960s will be appearing in venues across Canada over the coming months, giving Canadians the opportunity to experience their favourite hits performed live by some of the most hardworking octogenarians in the music industry.
The Beach Boys will be making a welcome return to Canada with the group performing at the Casino Rama Resort in Rama, Ontario on October 21 and 22, 2022. Fans of the group can be sure that the band will play their full repertoire of hits, including classics from their ground-breaking album Pet Sounds such as Wouldn’t It Be Nice and God Only Knows, along with other favourites such as California Girls, Barbara Ann and Good Vibrations.
A return to the 1960s
The venue will also host Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons on September 30 and October 1, 2022. Valli will be treating fans to his familiar falsetto voice, performing 1960s hits such as Big Girls Don’t Cry, Walk Like a Man, and December 1963 (Oh, What a Night). The Canada dates are part of his 2022 tour of North America and the United Kingdom, which will see the 88-year-old perform a total of 46 concerts.
Of course, many of the attendees will not pass up the opportunity to visit the casino itself at the Rama Resort, which offers over 1,800 slot games and electronic table games, alongside a total of 47 gaming tables for traditional casino games including poker, blackjack and roulette. Anyone interested in roulette has the option of preparing for the casino game by learning about the optimal roulette strategy to give themselves the best chance of winning, regardless of whether they are absolute beginners or experts.
Canadians will also have the chance to see one of their favourite sons perform live when singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot appears at the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino in Calgary on 26 October 2022. The performance of the 83-year-old guitarist, who is well-known for hits such as Early Morning Rain, Steel Rail Blues, and Ribbon of Darkness, is just one of a large number of attractions on offer in Calgary.
The perfect concert venue
Canadian casino resorts are particularly popular venues for music legends when they visit Canada as part of their tours of North America. The Casino Rama Resort is located on the land of the Chippewas of Rama First Nation and its entertainment centre has room for just over 5,000 concertgoers, creating plenty of scope for atmosphere while remaining an intimate venue for fans to get close to their idols. In the past, the casino resort has featured stars from the 1950s and 60s, including Neil Sedaka, Tony Bennett, and Ringo Starr, alongside more recent chart-toppers such as Alicia Keys, the US singer-songwriter who recently performed a sell-out show in Vancouver.
Canadian music fans will have the opportunity to take a trip back in time to the 1960s this year, with a range of icons appearing at casino resorts, including The Beach Boys, Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons and Gordon Lightfoot. The concerts will give fans the chance to combine traditional casino entertainment with music which has stood the test of time.
