Hedley frontman Jacob Hoggard was charged with sexual assault by Toronto police. He was charged with sexual interference and two counts of sexual assault causing bodily harm that occurred on three separate occasions in 2016 when he met two different women.
Hoggard is scheduled to appear in court on July 26th, and police are concerned there may be other victims.
Allegations against Hoggard first came to light in February 2018 when the hashtag #outHedley2k18 hashtag appeared on Twitter. Since then, the B.C.-based quartet announced that they were taking an “indefinite hiatus”, withdrew their 2018 Juno nominations, were dropped by their management team, the JUNO Awards, their tour openers, Neon Dreams and Shawn Hook, among others, and were allegedly being investigated for drugging an underage fan in 2005.
