Emerging rock band Speed Control is back with their new single “Inspector Tang”, which you can stream exclusively via Aesthetic Magazine below.
“The song, born out of an odd-time signature guitar riff, has turned into the punchy, hard hitting, rock song,” said the band. “It was one of those moments when the band just clicks, and within an hour, you’ve got a full song. This is an international process. We originally recorded this track at Breakglass Studios in Montreal, I believe actually we were the last band to record in their live room before it shut down. The mixing console that everything ran through was the one that Led Zeppelin recorded Physical Graffiti through. We spent 2 days in January 2020, tracking everything before heading off to a showcase in NY. Fast forward 6 months to a new Covid reality. Mixing happens with Jan in Belgium, live streaming with his studio/team in Denmark. Then it comes back to Speed Control in the Yukon, we assess, send back with any changes. We’ve converted our rehearsal space into a fully functioning studio as well. Going forward from this track, the process will be to record in the Yukon, send all the raw tracks to Jan in Belgium. He’ll work on them with his home gear, before sending it to one of several studios he works with to run through their gear, before going back to Jan, then to us, with things to fix/retrack on our end, then back across the ocean for more awesomeness.”
Hailing from Canada’s North in the Yukon, Speed Control is the rock band that can make you move even at -40 degrees. Brothers Graeme and Jody Peters have been joined by new members Eric Holland (Drums, Vocals) and Greg McLaughlin (lead guitar, vocals). With the added depth and creativity, new material and new energy is on the way.
