Exclusive: Stream Danyka’s New Curated Spotify Playlist

By: Staff –

To celebrate the release of Danyka’s new single “Toi”, the emerging French Canadian singer/songwriter curated a brand new curated Spotify playlist, which you can stream below.

Danyka’s soft tones and endless melodies come from years of success as an EDM topliner under her full name Danyka Nadeau, achieving over 100m streams on Spotify alone. Debuting her solo R&B project via Toronto-based indie label Sadboy Records, she finds herself rubbing shoulders with the likes of Sabrina Claudio and H.E.R.

Her sultry new single “Toi,” produced by Canadian platinum producer Chris Perry, blends romantic English/French lyrics over a chilled out happy R&B groove setting a summer vibe for a date night with bae. It captures the fun in those beginning stages of a relationship, where being with this person feels so new and exciting you can’t get enough and want to know if they feel the same.

Lolo Zouaï – “Caffeine”

This song is bop! Lolo Zouaï has been such a big inspiration for “Toi”. She is the first singer that I’ve heard who knows how to blend French and English lyrics together and make it sound cool. I definitely recommend her whole album.

Kali Uchis – “Telepatia”

This song came out after “Toi” was made but it has a similar feel to it. It’s such a vibe. I really enjoy the blend of Spanish and English lyrics, which you can also hear in “Toi” but with French and English instead.

NAO – “Bad Blood”

One of the most underrated artists in my opinion. She is the artist that introduced me to electro pop in 2018. I think she is an amazing lyricist and you can clearly hear her R&B influences in her melodies which I absolutely love. This song was also produced by my favorite producer GRADES. Would love to work with him one day.

Sinead Harnett – “If You Let Me”

Her voice!!!! Just beautiful,  I could listen to her all day. Coming from the world of EDM, I just wish I had written this song.

Sabrina Claudio – “Unravel Me”

Sabrina is probably my biggest inspiration at the moment. This is the first song I heard from her and haven’t stopped listening to her since. About Time is the only album I had on repeat for 6 months straight in 2019. I just love her melodies and her tone. I feel so much when I listen to her voice.

Doja Cat – “Kiss Me More (ft. SZA)”

This came out after “Toi” was made but similar to “Toi”, I just love the summer vibes when I listen to this. I also think Doja is one of the best artists in the music industry at the moment. Her range of vocal abilities as a singer and a rapper is just amazing, I can’t name anyone else who does it like her, she’s so unique.

Alina Baraz & Galimatias – “Fantasy”

Their Urban Flora album was on repeat prior to making my solo EP. I love Alina’s soft tone, it’s so sensual. Galimatias is also one of my favorite producers, I love the chill vibes and how he makes the production match the lyrics.

H.E.R – “Avenue”

I love how her lyrics always sound so conversational and to the point. Listening to her made me fall in love with R&B. There is not one song that she’s released so far that I haven’t loved. This is the first song of hers that I heard. I like that the focus in this song and most of the songs on her first two projects are focused on the vocals and the storytelling with minimal production.

Destiny Rogers – “Tomboy”

This song is a whole mood. She is making me wish I knew how to sing and rap at the same time lol! That sub bass hits hard too.

Miso – “Take Me”

Been a really huge fan of Korean R&B artists for a few years now. I was listening to this song a lot while making “Toi”. I really love the sound of the synth that carries the chords. I wish she would release more music.
