To celebrate the release of TITUS BANK’s new single “I Do Yeah”, the emerging Vancouver-based pop singer/songwriter curated a brand new curated Spotify playlist, which you can stream below.
BANK has a voice that can stop an audience in its tracks. He can effortlessly shift from a smooth croon to a soulful vibrato to a note-perfect howl — arresting and inviting; confident yet vulnerable.
BANK is now entering the next phase of an already-prolific music career via the unveiling of “I Do Yeah,” the first seismic single from his forthcoming debut solo album. While BANK previously made waves with his ambitious, song-a-day 365 Songwriting Challenge (during which he wrote, recorded and released 185 in the span of a year), “I Do Yeah” showcases a more mature and fully realized pop vision.
The song is the result of multiple writing sessions with Toronto pop quartet Valley—evolving from a sea breeze acoustic sway towards an incandescent swirl of synths, tasteful tremolo-and-fuzz dusted licks, punctuated by BANK’s rafters-reaching vocal glide.
“There’s a line in my new song that is “I don’t look left or right, I just drive, I do yeah,” said BANK. “I’ve crafted this playlist to embody the feeling of that, just letting go without a care. Imagine driving down the road after a long day at the beach, that sort of sun-soaked feeling of freedom like you can do anything.”
The Zolas – “Yung Dicaprio”
I am currently obsessed with this song. It has that incredible style that only The Zolas can pull off, but then ties it in with a sort of nostalgic rock feel that makes me want to go on a very long road trip and only listen to this song. Also I find myself throughout the day just saying “Korean Vogue” in the same way Zach sings it in the song haha, love it.
Dua Lipa – “Fever (feat. Angèle)”
This song makes me feel like I’m lost in a city I’ve never been to. Like I don’t care if I really ever find my way. It’s hypnotic and so very addictive.
Valley – “nevermind”
I am not sure a cooler band has existed before. I wrote my new single “I Do Yeah” with these guys and I have officially accepted I won’t ever be as cool as them haha. Like they somehow can rope you in with different licks and hooks and you simply can’t leave the same. I feel like I am a teen in the 90s when I listen to their stuff and it feels oh so gooooood.
Two Door Cinema Club – “Something Good Can Work (The Twelves Remix)”
If you can listen to this song and not just spontaneously start dancing, I don’t know if I can help you.. Sorry. This is such a fantastic remix of an already incredible song. I just got introduced to the remix recently and fell in love with this song all over again.
Anne-Marie – “To Be Young (feat. Doja Cat)”
So I am an almost 25 year old who is married. This song reignites in my brain what it feels like to be a teen so vividly that I can’t explain it. It reminds me of that Swae Lee and Post Malone Spider-Man song. This song makes me feel like an awkward Spider-Man and I love it.
The Millennial Club – “summer nights”
So this song came on a playlist I was vibing with and I literally became entranced by the chorus hook. The melody is like a rollercoaster ride I do not want to get off. Like, I replayed this song 4 times in a row just so I could THAT hook again. Also the “start to tap my feet” line feels so BTS and I’m obsessed.
sunsetto – “don’t leave”
Another recent discovery of mine. This dude is just such a great writer. Get huge joji vibes from this song and I live for it. Kept it on repeat for days after I heard it. It makes me emotional about things I’ve never experienced before and that is true talent.
New West – “Next to You”
I always find myself driving when I listen to this song and I have to stop myself from closing my eyes and becoming lost in the tune… I feel the need to pull over and soak it in. It’s like a combination of Oasis and Relient K, which is wild and I love it. Another song that’s been on repeat for me.
Troye Sivan – “Rager teenager!”
Been incredibly hooked to this song since it came out. It is just so sexy. Like there is no other way to describe it. The sensuality in this song is just so perfect. It’s such a nostalgic banger of a song and I beg you to keep this one on your likes.
Tim Maia – “Ela Partiu”
After “Rager Teenager!” you need a cigarette. This is the song you need after this musical adventure I’ve taken you on. Pull off to the side of the road and just chill. You don’t need to understand the language to catch the pure vibes that Tim presents to you with his sultry voice.
