Sam Carter is a tour-de-force in the metalcore scene and having seen them in the past, I think Kelsey captured his essence perfectly here. The emotions evoked coupled with the super crisp, clean edit make it feel as if I’m situated front row screaming at the top of my lungs.

Venue: Phoenix Concert Theatre

Punk Rock is arguably where I both see and capture most of my favourite shots. Francesca beautifully caught Chris here in a natural frame – we can see his emotion conveyed perfectly as you’re drawn into the center of the image. Perfection!

Artist: Single Mothers
Venue: Star and Garter
City: Manchester
Date: Nov. 19
Photographer: Priti Shikotra

This shot feels so reminiscent of those taken at punk shows in the 70s such as the famous CBGB in NYC. The flash coupled with the carefree attitude of Andrew here is the definition of punk rock. An ode to the past; simply iconic.

Artist: Counterparts
Venue: The Opera House
City: Toronto
Date: Sept. 20
Photographer: Harrison Haines

I really like the colours, the light direction and the juxtaposition of a hardcore artist in such an upscale locale. Harrison really captured Brendan of Counterparts at his peak here; everything just works out wonderfully.

Artist: The Menzingers
Venue: Metro Chicago
City: Chicago
Date: March 3
Photographer: Kris Cortes

The Menzingers are always hopping around on stage and Kris caught Greg Barnett at the perfect time in this photo. Between the timing, the expression, how the light diffracts into the lens and the post-processing – this image really brings me back to when I saw them earlier this year.
