The Pick Brothers Band during day eight of their 2017 Ontario Tour.
Woke up at the hotel in Montreal more or less in time for checkout on day eight and then headed to the Mile End neighbourhood to hang out on the patio at Club Social with a cousin of ours. Drank lattes and had proper wood fired bagels with cream cheese and lox and thought about moving in. Alas the time came to leave for Ottawa.
Got into our nations capitol with a little time to kill so we checked into Les Suites across the street from Cafe Dekcuf, the night’s venue. Heading back to Dekcuf we ran into the fellas in the Pistolwhips – the Saskatoon band we’d be sharing the bill with – and traded a couple tour stories before loading in. Checked sound and ran across the street to our suite to take showers and look out from our high up balcony over Ottawa and then ran back to venue just in time for the Pistolwhips set. They were great and got the stage glowing. We played around 10pm and pulled out a bunch of stops for the last night of the tour. Sections and solos were extended, effects were maxed out and fun was definitely had by all. When it was all said and done we drank ceremonial shots at the bar before we headed back to the hotel to carry on, again, until very late.
