Venue: Cherry Colas
City: Toronto
Date: May 7

First off Sumo Cyco, needless to say are in the top five bands to photograph live. Francesca knew exactly where to place the lens for Sumo Cyco’s outrageous moments.

Artist: Daughter
Venue: Massey Hall
City: Toronto
Date: November 16
Photographer: Brendan Albert

Brendan Albert went for a sheer atomic pull with these shoots of Daughter and Vancouver Sleep Clinic. Each photograph bares a story as well as mystery that Albert responded too. Not only was this a concert no one should have missed, but Albert reinforces that exact question with a singular answer ‘Yes’.

Artist: Hinds
Venue: Adelaide Hall
City: Toronto
Date: October 26
Photographer: Rick Clifford

Three bands, three collective photography shoots are one gig by Rick Clifford in a matter of speaking showcases exactly what “going to show” is said to believe. The unreal photographic nature of these three bands playing to a crowded hall, venturing between black/white and color shots.

Artist: Drowners
Venue: Think Tank
City: Newcastle, UK
Date: October 18
Photographer: Kelly Hamilton

I am not going to even lie any live photography shots of the Drowners, I love. After seeing them live multiple times, being able to witness a type of relentless energy the band possesses easily becomes fascinating for a photographer.

Whether the room is packed with hundreds or merely 25 people, the Drowners ceaseless presences never goes unnoticed.

Artist: The Vaccines
Venue: The Mod Club
City: Toronto
Date: May 26
Photographer: Janine Van Oostrom

One of the best bands to photograph live. Not only have the crowds been enigmatic but the band throws back just as much energy. Also, The Vaccines are one of the hardest working bands in the business, no doubt about that.

Janine Van Oostrom clearly understood what actions would take place on that stage. With an effortless style Oostrom captured legendary shots each and every time.
