Capturing the energy is the goal of any concert photographer, and this shot does exactly that. The Chainsmokers perform in a very lively manner, bouncing from each side of the stage and encouraging the crowd to join in on the energy, so this shot, showing Drew Taggart midair as Alex Pall shares in his energy is a perfect example of capturing the energy, not just the moment.

The lighting in this photo combined with capturing a moment of utter passion in Death Cab For Cutie’s Riot Fest performance is second to none.

I live for shots that convey the overall energy of the show, and this shot does a great job of doing so. With the sweat beads flying out of his hair mid-head bang, his facial expression, and even the cool hue of the photo, it’s easy to dive right into the energy of the show.

The lighting in this photo is the most effective lighting I can imagine a photo having, not to mention how effective capturing that amount of energy in one frame is.

Sometimes the band member gives the photographer an opportunity to snap the money shot of the entire night, and that looks like what happened here. Awesome shot.
