Album: I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful, yet so unaware of it
Artist: The 1975
Label: Dirty Hit/Interscope
Released: February 26

I feel The 1975 has a very distinct funky sound and combined with the messages their songs give, it blends perfectly. They are very detail oriented with their songs and the album tells a story of the narrator.

This might be a theory, but along with the music videos they have released so far, it seems to point in that direction.

Chance The Rapper’s unique rap style merged with artists such as Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Justin Bieber gives this album a distinct sound like no other.

Album: Views
Artist: Drake
Label: Young Money/Republic
Released: April 29

With multiple hits coming out of Views, there’s no question as to how his Summer Sixteen tour was a success. The album includes features from Rihanna, Future and OVO’s PARTYNEXTDOOR. There’s definitely a variety of music styles from soft R&B to banging rap/hip hop.

Album: Matter
Artist: St. Lucia
Label: Columbia
Released: January 29

I don’t usually listen an album in its entirety. Every song in this album is as catchy as the next. Tropical sounds mixed with funky guitar is a winner.

Album: Waking At Dawn
Artist: Roy Woods
Label: OVO
Released: July 1

The very underrated Canadian rapper is beginning to make a name for himself by being on tour with Drake and performing songs from Waking at Dawn. This album is a combination of Hip-Hop and Alternative R&B.
