2013 was the year Coachella grew to the mammoth lineups we know today. Approaching 200 bands on 8 stages, this was the first year where festivalgoers had to make constant, heartbreaking decisions to sacrifice seeing one set for another. 2013’s lineup featured a healthier balance of new and old, with bands like Hot Chip, Grizzly Bear and Vampire Weekend mixed in with Blur, Modest Mouse, Lou Reed (this was among Lou’s last concerts) and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Bonus: double Nick Cave!
Reunited and it feels so good: Stone Roses, Blur, New Order (again), The Postal Service, Violent Femmes, Dinosaur Jr.
Future BFD (Big Fucking Deal): Disclosure, Pusha T, 2 Chainz, Danny Brown, Alt-J
Canada Represent: Tegan and Sara, Metric, Stars
